3. Let's Go to the Beach!
The beaches of the North and West of Cape Cod face Cape Cod Bay and have the least surf. The tides go out for miles and small children are safest here. The southside beaches facing Nantucket Sound have small wave action and are still very safe for toddlers.
The east-facing beaches are on the Atlantic Ocean and have larger surf and undertows. Children should be supervised, but teens and adults love it.

12.Drive Route 6a- The Old King's Highway
“Landscapes, like beauty, may well be colored by the eye of the beholder, but steering along tree-shaded Route 6A on a mild summer day, with blue inlets of Cape Cod Bay on one side and white picket-fenced houses on the other, I’m tempted to conclude this may be the most appealing stretch of America I know.”
13.Hoxie House
Hoxie House in Sandwich, Massachusetts is one of the oldest houses on Cape Cod and one the oldest surviving houses in Massachusetts. The saltbox house was built in the mid-seventeenth century and occupied around 1675 by Rev. John Smith, his wife Susanna and their 13 children. Smith served as pastor of the Separatist First Church of Sandwich church from 1673 until 1689. He also served as a representative to the legislature and recommended tolerance of the Quakers, a religious minority in the area.
In the mid-nineteenth century, Abraham Hoxie, a whaling captain, purchased the property. The town of Sandwich acquired the home in the 1950s and restored the building.
